Jonah's Tutorial Material 2 - handle material

Hi, I'm now attaching some of the latest tutorial material from Jonah.

The music is based on Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven, examples given on how to handle a material.
Which one is from Jonah?  I have to say they all have elements of humor, but can you tell the difference?

Tan Dun and Sa Ding Ding trully match in temperament ;D

I find there has been difficulty for people to develop their piece from another music.

Here's a few assistance.

1> This is to develop people's ability of learning. Smart people not only learn from the good examples, but also bad examples.  Sometimes, you need a teacher's guidance , but when you have been taught, it needs your own ears.  So smart people can learn with more initiatives , but with full understanding. This is the reason, Jonah makes tutorial videos, as each video has a point even though amusing. You need to think over to learn, and factually you can learn from any materials.

2> To develop your piece from studying on an old piece, firstly, you need your own examination. I know in reality, there's lots "picks" that serves some gross purpose. But when learning, you are very honest to yourself, and it does not mean your voice has to be told verbally to others.

So when you learn, firstly clear your points,  then express it directly in your music.

3> It is suggested that you always use the old material - it is frequently used in production.

You need to learn the flexibility in handling these material. In such way, you will see how different handles bring different results.

  •  if the material is from a song, or melody, where would you like it to go next ?
  • If it's from ryhthm , where would you like it to go
  • if from harmony
My point is this should be your study in a particular topic that you are interested, but apart from being clearly identified as the original version ( because I don't want any copyright issues) , you should not be restricted by it in any forms.

With these hints and thinking, please go back to the assignment.
